To plan your trip, begin by thinking about how you will get to Denver, which is at the intersection of I-25 and I-70. It is served by flights into Denver International Airport and by Amtrak train to the city's Union Station. If you come by air or rail, plan to rent a car when you arrive. It's tourist season year around in Colorado, so car rentals at the airport can be pricey. You may save quite a bit by getting a ride to a car rental site in a nearby suburb where rates are often lower. It's best to plan ahead because most visitors to the state rent cars.
